Land Yachting is a great sport with a history that stretches back thousands of years. The modern day land yachts are both sleek and lightweight and are capable of travelling seriously fast with speeds of 50mph+ not uncommon....with no brakes! Land Yachting has become more and more popular and its easy to see why; it is both adrenalin fuelled and accessible, the yachts can be transported easily and the sport creates no noise, pollution or site damage. Extreme Elements One Day Introduction to Land Yachting is a great way into the sport and by the end of the course you will be well on your way to becoming a safe and competent Land Yachter; expect to get the bug!
Course Content :: Your session will start with a briefing covering safety and basic techniques before you start having a go in the Land Yacht; initially you will sail at low speed, mastering how to stop the Land Yacht (very important as it has no brakes!). You will then be taught how to turn the yacht and as your confidence builds you will move on to a figure of eight course which allows you to practice safe and controlled turns. You will then move on to learning more advanced skills such as gybe turns which will prepare you for moving up on to a larger circuit where you will start to experience performance sailing and the rush that this sport provides!

• Duration:The course will last for approx 6 hours.
• What to Wear / Equipment:All safety equipment is provided by the centre. On the day you should wear jeans, sweat shirt, trainers, change of clothing just in case you get wet and wateroroof jacket and trousers or complete suit if you have one.
• Locations:New Romney, Kent
• Group Size / Spectators:There will be a maximum of six students per instructor. Spectators are welcome.
• Weather:Land Yachting is weather dependent; please check with the centre the day before or on the day to check that your experience is going ahead.
• Availability:Available on weekends year round ( Limited availability in July / August )
• Restrictions:Age Restrictions: Min age is 16
• Weight Restrictions: Max weight is 16.5 stone or 105 kg, Reasonable Fitness is required
